Driver Safety Course


Request for Driver Safety Course for Citation Dismissal (DSC) must be postmarked within 10 business days of your citation date. You may only take the Driver Safety Course for dismissal once a year. The date is determined from the completion date of the prior class to the date of the new citation. Driver's with CDL licenses are not eligible for the Driver Safety Course.

You must have the following:

1. A valid, non-commercial Texas Driver's License or Permit (or a valid driver's license and a current military identification card).
2. A valid vehicle liability insurance policy or proof of financial responsibility.

If you were cited for any of the following, you are NOT eligible to take the Driver Safety Course for citation dismissal:

1. Speeding 25 mph or more above the posted speed limit.
2. NO liability insurance or failure to maintain financial responsibility.
3. Leaving the scene of a collision.
4. Passing a School Bus.
5. Cited while driving in a Construction Zone while worker's were present.

If you wish to request a Driver Safety Course please click here and complete the request form. The form must be returned to the Municipal Court within 10 business days from the date of your citation.
