Deferred Disposition for Insurance and Driver's License

INSURANCE – Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility
If you were not insured at the time of the citation, but you obtain an insurance policy with your name on it before your Municipal Court appearance the Municipal Court can reduce the fine amount from $290 to $119.  You will be required to maintain an insurance policy for six months.  You MUST provide a valid insurance ID card at the time of the request.

DRIVER’S LICENSE – Driving While License is Invalid
If your driver’s license was not valid at the time of your citation please contact the Texas Department of Public Safety to take care of any fines or surcharges you may owe.  Contact the Municipal Court on or before your appearance date (10 business days from date of violation) and advise of your driver’s license status for a possible reduction in your fine ($369 to $119) and deferral.  You MUST provide a copy of your valid driver’s license at the time of your request.
