Mayor's Desk

Welcome to Marble Falls!

Thank you for your interest in the City of Marble Falls.

Marble Falls is located in the middle of the Texas Hill Country on the Colorado River (Lake Marble Falls), 48 miles northwest of Austin,75 miles north of San Antonio, in the middle of the Highland Lakes area, the largest chain of lakes in Texas.  We are surrounded by hills and are 20 minutes or less from four of the other Highland Lakes; Buchanan, Inks, LBJ and Travis.

As a long time resident of Marble Falls, I feel fortunate to live in such a great community in such a beautiful area.

Our local economy is growing as many new businesses relocate here to seek the quality of life that our existing business owners and area residents already enjoy.  Although we are an economic center for the area, we are proud to maintain that small town feel. Marble Falls is, and will continue to be, a great place to raise a family.

There is a lot going on in Marble Falls.  New businesses are coming into town, infrastructure expansions are in progress and a transformation is planned for the beautiful Lake Marble Falls waterfront. City Council has established a vision for the future of our city and the 2016 Comprehensive Plan has provided a road map for us to get there.  Council and Staff have diligently set out to ensure we are achieving our goals as a community while maintaining fiscal responsibility.  The State of the City is good and we are excited about the future.

Many of our historic buildings were built with the same locally quarried Texas Pink granite that the State Capitol of Texas was built out of in the 1880's.  We are very proud of our history and are very excited about our future.  The addition of the new Baylor Scott & White Regional Hospital will be a great asset to our community.  As we review our existing comprehensive plan, and begin to create a new one, city and community leaders can visualize the future potential for Marble Falls.  We are excited!

Once again, thank you for visiting our website.

We hope to see you soon in Marble Falls.

John Packer, Mayor
City of Marble Falls
