Elections

The City Secretary serves as the Chief Election Official for the City of Marble Falls. City Elections are conducted in accordance with the Texas Election Code. The regular City Election is held annually on the second Saturday in May as required by the Texas Election Code. All municipal elections are publicized in accordance with the Texas Election Code.

The Council

The City of Marble Falls is a Home Rule City with a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council consists of a Mayor and six (6) Councilmembers who are elected at large under a place system. Each Councilmember occupies a place on the Council and is elected by plurality from all candidates running for the place by the qualified voters of the City.

Term Information

Each member serves a staggered two (2) year term, thus three (3) of the members are voted on one (1) year, with the remaining members, including the Mayor, elected the following year. Term limits are in place, which means the Mayor and Councilmembers may serve for a maximum of six (6) years, or  three (3) consecutive terms.
  • The City of Marble Falls contracts with Burnet County to conduct elections.
